Chakras: The Divine Stem

We are Spiritual Beings having a human experience here on Earth. There is a current running through you. A central column, a living axis, a stem. A bridge between Earth and Spirit. The spine, but not the bone, the energy centers, a current, running vertically through the body, rooting down into the Earth and reaching up toward the sky. The Chakras are turning wheels along this divine stem. Alive, turning, filtering, responding. Imagine a rose, roots deep in the fertile soil, petals reaching up toward the light of the sun, stem connecting roots and bloom, strong and sturdy.

We are connected to the Earth, Pachamama, Mother Earth Gaia through our energetic roots. At the crown of our head, we are connected to the Spirit. Great Spirit, one who goes by so many names. The higher power of your understanding. Just like we have energetic roots into the earth through the base of the spine, we are connected to the spirit through the crown of the head.

The crown chakra is represented by the thousand petal lotus, drinking in the divine energy from above like photosynthesis. This light pours down through your head and pours light into all your chakras, the spinning wheels of light. This light illuminates the third eye, the inner vision. When connected, we can see that we are more than our human identities. We are not our thoughts, not our emotions, not our body, not our breath but the consciousness that observes them all.

The word yoga means UNION, to yoke, to pull the energy of Earth and Spirit into the physical body. In this world we are taught that we are physical beings. We are so much more than we have been taught. If spirit is an ocean of consciousness, we are one drop manifested into this specific physical form. Grounded to the original mother through gravity itself. Rooted through our life experience. Though we have individuated, we are still very much connected to this vast ocean of universal oneness.

Think again about those roots. They drink up the water from the earth. We are connected to all the waters of the earth. The rain, the lakes, rivers, streams. We are also connected to all other living beings. The life force energy that animates your physical body is the same energy that flows through all living things.

These waters are warmed and flowing by the sunlight of the spirit, where your specific energy signature shines into the world. As within so without. Our individuated soul decides how to channel this life force energy through purpose. The sacred lives within each and every one of us. That energy is meant to be expressed outwardly into the world.

The elements are the building blocks of life. Earth, water, fire, air, ether makes up every living thing. All the elements existing, working together against gravity, reaching up toward the light. We have the ability to create heaven right here on Earth. All we need to do is anchor the divine into the physical through the divine stem.
